Sometimes, you just have to let people win the battle. You don’t know how much it may mean to them.
Sometimes, you don’t have to say, “I told you so.” It feels good to rub a situation in other peoples’ faces, but in my experience with family, friends and others, when you know you are in the right, you don’t have to say anything.
Why?
Because they know it too (some).
And sometimes, the battle is no longer with you, but with themselves and it is no longer your business to partake. Politely let go of your end of the rope in the tug of war and walk away. At the end of it all, you are walking free and light. Your opponent is the one still dragging the rope and will let go of it when ready.
